Stepping into the historic Mossbrae Hotel felt like a journey back in time to the gold rush days of the late 1800s. the Hemingway Room, a cozy retreat, served as our base for exploring Dunsmuir's rich history and charm. the Jones Building's front entrance door, a proud feature in the lobby, whispered tales of east coast blue-bloods and railroad barons who once graced this picturesque town. Our room, adorned with heat-controlled tiles and dual sinks, exuded a perfect blend of modern comfort and old-world elegance. While the windows overlooked another building, reducing natural light, the rooftop view of tree-covered hills was simply enchanting. Cafe Maddalena, down the street, tempted our taste buds with its exquisite offerings, embodying far northern California's culinary excellence. Venturing around Dunsmuir, encountering the iconic Ted Fay Fly Shop on the premises, and relishing activities like hiking and cycling, immersed us in the authentic and inspiring experience the town had to offer. the blend of historical significance and modern comforts made our visit truly unforgettable.
